Flood Risks Are Changing in Central Texas
Several counties in Central Texas are currently in different phases of FEMA's flood mapping program, ranging from receiving new preliminary maps to new flood maps becoming effective. These include Caldwell, Guadalupe, Hays, Gonzales, Bandera, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, Travis and Bexar Counties. To help REALTORS® living and/or working in those counties better understand what these changes mean, FEMA is providing a free 2-hour webinar on how map changes affect building and flood insurance requirements and insurance options.
During this course, you will:
Hear about the mapping projects and better understand where the changes are occurring on the new flood maps;
- Learn about the potential impacts on flood insurance and building requirements;
- Hear more about the National Flood Insurance Program's available insurance rating options;
- Review recent related changes to the National Flood Insurance Program; and
- Walk away with online tools and resources to assist you.
