The San Antonio Board of REALTORS® hosted its 2020 Housing Forecast on January 14, 2020, at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa to an audience of over 1,000 REALTOR® and Affiliate members. Participants at this annual event heard from a series of locally and nationally recognized speakers sharing their expertise on market conditions, industry trends and community conditions and how those factors will affect the 2020 real estate market.
“2019 was another standout year for home sales in the San Antonio area, and this event provided us the opportunity to review our market performance as well as share important data with our members on what to expect in the coming year,” said Gilbert S. Gonzalez, CEO for the San Antonio Board of REALTORS®.
Topics covered this year ranged from local, state and national housing trends as well as insights from local leaders on construction and developments in the San Antonio and South Texas areas.
The keynote speakers were two economists, Dr. Jim Gaines, Chief Economist at the Texas A&M Real Estate Center; and Dr. John Baen, Professor of Real Estate at the University of North Texas. The event also featured presentations from Molly Cox, President and CEO of SA2020 looking forward at the opportunities coming to San Antonio in the next decade; and Daniel Gonzalez, President and CEO of Gonzalez Public Affairs and Consulting providing insights on legislative issues that could have an impact on local property rights.
