The San Antonio Board of REALTORS® hosted its 2019 Housing Forecast on January 3, 2019, at the La Cantera Resort and Spa to an audience of over 1,000 REALTOR® and Affiliate members.
Participants at this annual event heard from a series of locally and nationally recognized speakers sharing their expertise on market conditions, industry trends and community conditions and how those factors will affect the 2019 real estate market.
Last year was the biggest year yet in real estate, and in 2018 we outpaced 2017’s sales figures. An event like this is a prime opportunity for our members to prepare for the demands of a busy housing market by staying informed of the factors shaping our industry.
Topics covered this year ranged from local, state and national housing trends as well as insights from local leaders on the economy and developments in the San Antonio area.
The keynote presentation was given by Dr. Mark Dotzour, Real Estate Economist, who spoke about the current conditions in the Texas market while offering some insight into the coming year. Other presenters included Mayor Ron Nirenberg; Lourdes Castro Ramírez, Chair of the City of San Antonio’s Housing Policy Task Force; Molly Cox, President and CEO of SA2020; Jon Gary Herrera, Sr. Vice President of Public Engagement for VIA Metropolitan Transit; and Isidro “Sid” Martinez, Director of the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization.
