On September 23, phone users in the San Antonio area will need to begin dialing all ten digits (area code plus the 7 digit phone number) when placing a call. This is part of the roll-out of the new overlay area code, 726, going into effect.
Even those with a 210 area code will still need to dial 210 when calling another local number. If you do not use this procedure after the change goes into effect, your calls will not be completed.
