The San Antonio Board of REALTORS® is pleased to announce the selection of Yvette Allen as Chairman of the Board. Lorena Peña will step into the role of Chair-Elect, and Marty Hutchison will serve as Secretary/Treasurer. Each has previously served in an executive role on the Board of Directors.
“We value the time and commitment each of these individuals gives to the organization, and look forward to a great year ahead under their leadership,” said Angela Shields, SABOR’s president and CEO.
Allen’s resume includes service on the Member Benefits Committee with the Texas Association of REALTORS® and as chairman of SABOR’s Young Professionals Network in 2010. She has also taught courses as an instructor at The Real Estate School at SABOR and is a 2009 graduate of the Texas REALTORS® Leadership Program. Allen is the broker/owner of Real Estate 210.
“I am extremely honored to be named chairman of the Board for the San Antonio Board of REALTOR® and look forward to serving the membership,” said Allen.
Peña joined the Board of Directors in 2014 and has served on several SABOR committees including as chairman of the Young Professionals Network and the REALTOR® Image committee. She is also a past president of the Junior League of San Antonio and has been a REALTOR® since 2002. She is a REALTOR®/Partner at The Osburn Peña Group of RE/MAX Preferred REALTORS®.
Meanwhile, Hutchison has actively served at SABOR for a number of years including as chair of the Property Management committee and as a member of the Bylaws and Government Affairs committees. He has also served on committees with the Texas Association of REALTORS® and is a 2009 Texas REALTORS® Leadership Program graduate. He is currently with Property Management Services of Texas, Inc.
Other changes to the Board of Directors include the addition of Diane Lauer, currently a Director, to the Executive Committee as a Member-at-Large and Cher Miculka who will join the Board as a new Director.
Altogether, SABOR has 18 members on its Board of Directors. The chairman’s role includes presiding over the Board of Directors while working alongside SABOR’s president and CEO to implement the policies and vision set forth by the members. SABOR’s membership numbers over 10,000 in the San Antonio and surrounding areas, covering nine counties in South Texas.
